This week saw the Senior School come together for the Commencement Ceremony. It was extremely pleasing for this important function to be the first one in the Gym since its repair. I would like to thank everyone in the community for their concern and support as the Gym has undergone its repaires through last year and the early part of this year. The finished repairs have been worth waiting for.

The Commencement Ceremony has two main functions. The celebration of academic achievement from the year before and the recognition of students taking on leadership positions this year. It was pleasing to see so many students from last year present with their parents and friends. The following students gained Awards:

The following students were presented with 2016 Scholarship Awards: Alejandra Camacho, Juulke Castelijn, Stevan Deris, Jessica Ewert, Grace Fisher, Jenna Franks, Aidan Johnson, Jennifer Ly, Georgia McIntosh, Nazeeha Moosajee, Adel Munro, Caitlin Philipps, Cameron Richardson, Bradley Sawyer, Gurleen Singh, Stephanie Trento and Chloe Woolley.

I congratulate all of the students whose results were recognised at the Commencement Ceremony.

The Ceremony is also one in which we can celebrate our School Leaders. It was a pleasure to see so many students take on positions as leaders within the school. I look forward to working with them throughout the year in developing the culture of leadership through service within the school.
