Featured Story

It was pleasing to see the French Exchange students arrive home this week. I would like to thank Jenny Jovanovic and Ganisha Doma for supervising our students during their trip to France. Whilst at times it may seem glamourous to be taking students overseas, the reality is that it is demanding work with little time for a break. We are fortunate that we have staff willing and able to support so many of our overseas opportunities.

All of our overseas trips are, I believe, exceptionally well organized with considerable emphasis on risk assessment. Recent changes to Victorian Legislation may require some modifications in the nature and range of opportunities that we offer. I have started a full review of all aspects of overseas trips to ensure that we remain fully compliant with all actual and implied changes brought about by new legislation.

As the weather continues to be so mild the normal requirements in relation to the wearing of summer uniform continue to apply for Terms 2 and 3. If the weather forecast predicts a temperature of 25 or over then students may elect to wear their summer uniform. I would ask that students do not “mix and match” summer and full school uniform but wear one or the other in full. Equally, whilst I am on uniform we seem to have an outbreak of students with shirts out and anoraks as top garments. If the weather is warm enough to wear shorts than a blazer is sufficient as a top article of clothing. Equally, I expect all students to be wearing the uniform properly both at school and when they are off school grounds.
