I am glad that that school has settled so well into Term 2.  It was a privilege to attend the Senior School Anzac Service on Monday morning and hear reports of the Junior School service in the afternoon.  The level of respect and student involvement was outstanding.  To be able to have over 1,000 students in silence and participating in a presentation that was run by students is wonderful to see.

Building works on the Staughton Vale and Maddingley sites have been delayed by weather.  I think we have all reached the point where we wish it to be finished and this sentiment has been made loud and clear to all involved.  I would ask for your continued patience for a little longer.

We are currently working our way through applications for Year 7 next year.  There are significantly more applicants for positions than we are able to comfortably accommodate.  I make clear that in selecting students current families and those who apply early are given clear preference.  The school is supported (and has been historically) by a range of communities across Western Melbourne.  In taking applicants into the school we do not have a “geographic test” and are proud of the fact that we have both students who walk to school and who travel over an hour each way daily.  The geographic diversity of the school is one of its strengths and will not change.  Parents can rest assured that they will not be advantaged or disadvantaged in applications by where in the broad west and surrounding areas they live.
