On Friday and Saturday students presented to the school and the broader community “Legally Blond”, the musical.  Much has come to be expected from school productions and this one did not disappoint.  As usual the quality of music, acting and dancing was of the highest order.  This play is in my sense a bit of fun with a strong message about the role of being positive, yourself and fair in your dealings with others.  I think, and certainly the overwhelming feedback has been, that the spirit of the play was captured wonderfully by the students.  It was clear they were having fun and though tired at the end thoroughly enjoyed the process.

A major part of the success of the play is the degree to which staff and students work together to produce the production.  I would particularly like to thank Helena Stratakos – Director, Dean Thomas – Music Director, Victoria Hewson – Chorus Director and Vocal Coach, Sally Durham and Hayley Inglis – Dance Choreographers, Shane McNee and Emily Lacy – Stage Managers, Phillippa Loton – Costume Assistant.  Thank you to you all for your commitment to make the production such a positive and professional activity.  A raft of other staff, students and parents also give their time and expertise to the production and I also thank you.  I am pleased that students have been so enthusiastic about the production and have done such a good job – well done to all involved.

We are currently arranging interviews for Prep and Prep Reception for 2018.  Despite numerous communications, current families are still as late as today in putting in applications for enrolment and expecting current family preference.  This is unfair on administrative staff and new families who have put applications in early and paid their enrolment application fee in good faith.  As such, from Friday 12 May 2017 any current family who makes an application for Year 7, Prep or Prep Reception 2018 will be treated as a new family applicant.  This means that they will be placed on a waiting list for interviews (Prep closed on 5 May) and are unlikely to receive a position.  If there are extenuating circumstances then I am happy to consider them if they are placed in writing to me with a late application.

In general, I would urge current families to have applications for enrolment submitted to the School’s Registrar 12-18 months before interviews which means 24-36 months before enrolment.
