Featured Story

It is at this time of the year that teachers often get a sense of why their job is such a rewarding one.  In the last few weeks senior staff have been involved in decisions around leadership positions and saying farewell to our Year 12 students.

The Year 12 Valedictory Dinner was held at Etihad Stadium, as it has been now, for a number of years.  The friendly, relaxed and polite nature of our student body was on show.  I know that I am biased but the word that I think best summed up the group was charming.  My view was supported by the staff at Etihad and those who support this function.  Yet again we were complimented on the manners, good nature and general pleasantness of all involved.  I would like to thank Cathy Perconte for the work that she puts into making this evening such a success and to Jodie Thorneycroft for her assistance in making the night run smoothly.

I would like to congratulate the Year 11 students who have been confirmed in leadership positions.  The depth and quality of service that students had been involved in was truly impressive and made a final decision difficult.  I look forward to working with the Senior Leaders over the next 12 months.

I would also like to congratulate Nicole Farnell.  I had the pleasure along with Mrs Symes of attending the presentation ceremony at which Nicole was awarded her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award last Friday.  Congratulations to Nicole in achieving this significant award and being one of such a select group in doing so.

We have much to be proud and thankful for at this school.  The quality of so many of our students is one of the most important features at the school.
