Admissions

Choosing the right school for your child is an important decision that every parent will be faced with.

At Bacchus Marsh Grammar, we respect the uniqueness of each child and work hard to understand and meet their individual needs. We provide a safe and positive learning environment where all students can grow and develop to maximise their potential. The School receives many more applications for admission than it is able to cater for; by this fact the School is a Selective one. It considers a range of factors when making these selections. These are contained in the School’s Enrolment Policy accessible here. The School makes clear that ‘Date of Application’ is only one of a number of factors considered in the offer of a position.

The main entry point year levels for Bacchus Marsh Grammar are at Prep and Year 7. Minor entry points are at Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11. Outside of these year levels the School may have positions from time to time. Parents may access these positions by being placed on a waiting list. All applications will continue to roll over year to year until a position becomes available, please do not submit a second application.

Due to high demand and limited availability, securing a position for enrolment may be quite competitive and it is more likely that students will need to wait some years for a position. We encourage prospective parents to apply early and explore alternative options as well.

Year 9 to VCE enrolments

Please contact the School Registrar or Admissions Officer to discuss positions at these year levels.

Expressions of interest can be submitted for Year 9 or above. The next step in the enrolment process is for school reports to be made available from your child’s current school.

The Principal looks particularly at indications of behaviour and attitude. If the majority of subjects do not have good to outstanding in these areas, it is unlikely that a position will be considered.
