eNews Issue 7

This week has been a significant one in a number of areas of school life. The variety of these illustrate the richness and diversity of activities that occur at the school.

Lou Callow coordinated and presented an impressive section of work at the Ballarat White Night event. The school has been extremely fortunate to have Lou teaching and influencing our students. It was wonderful to see the creativity that we see around us every day being made available to the broader public.

On Monday the school hosted a group of VESS Chaplains and Welfare Coordinators to the school to hear a presentation by Mark Purser, the Chaplain to the Essendon Football Club. He was also able to speak more broadly with a range of our students in relation to his experiences dealing with a variety of issues at the club. I would like to thank Mrs Sarah Hunter for organising this event and the life she is breathing into developing a range of wellbeing, social justice and broadly spiritual programs.

The event that Sarah organised was occurring whilst I was at a Victorian Ecumenical Schools strategic meeting. Many of the representatives of the other fifteen schools were appreciative of Sarah and the School’s work in this area.

During last week we celebrated International Week. It was wonderful to see so many students so well turned-out in their national dress. I would like to thank Jacinta Davie and Fiona Erhardt for all the work involved in organising the week and the students for being so willing to embrace the program.
