8 ELIZA WALES – KARATE Eliza has proudly represented Australia and Victoria over the past few years. This year, she progressed up Age divisions, competing in the Junior 16-17 Years division. The year started relatively strongly with a tough Australian team training in Sydney, followed shortly by the Victorian State Championships where she won a Silver Medal. In April, Eliza competed at the Australasian Schools and Universities’ Championships and Australian Open Championships, where she won Bronze in the Schools’ Championships. Eliza’s goals for 2020 are selection for the Oceania Championships next year and then working towards selection for the next Junior World Championships. She is a member of the BMG/FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport program. JEMIMA WOODS – AFL FOOTBALL This year, Jemima has played in the Under 18 Western Jets NAB League Team. After a particularly strong season, Jemima was selected to play for the Under 16 Victoria Metro Team. The team played two Carnival games, one against NSW and the other against Victoria Country. Once again Jemima “shone”, was named in the best players and was selected to play in the Victoria Metro and Victoria Country combined squad that played against the Australian Under 18 Indigenous Team.
