BMG 2020 Grammarian Issue 1
11 for the longest leg, or maybe even two legs in one day! Throughout the week, students not only refined their paddling skills, but also developed lifelong skills such as teamwork, collaboration and resilience. To help prepare for the paddle, there are a range of off water and on water sessions held throughout the year including paddling Pikes Creek, Gunbower National Park and Lake Eppalock. These activities are available to any Year 9 to 12 student to learn, develop and refine their kayaking skills. The Massive Murray Paddle, Australia’s longest river challenge, provides Year 9 to 12 students with a unique opportunity to work together as a team, experience a wonderful environment and participate in a world-recognised endurance event. If students are interested in participating in the paddle, or any of the other kayaking activities throughout the year, they should attend an information session or speak to one of the BMG Kayaking Team staff.
