BMG 2020 Grammarian Issue 4

12 PARENT REFLECTION Natasha McMillan Literacy Week 2020 in our household was full of excitement. Everyday Annika (2A) and Elodie (Prep B) dressed up as a different book character which made our mornings fun, interesting and, to be honest, hectic. Being in lockdown had dampened their spirits but Literacy Week changed that. They were excited every day to get dressed up, meet their visiting author and to ask them questions. They loved to listen to the teachers read their favourite books, all the while waiting to find the vital clue! They enjoyed all the activities that were available. Both Annika and Elodie love reading, so being able to celebrate all week was the highlight of Term 3. STAFF REFLECTION Mrs Samantha Alexander It’s a week of settings, characters and books. A week where we all want to take a quick look- At costumes, make-up, props and just ask... “Who are you dressed up as, under that mask?” COVID may have kept many of us home, But our spirits weren’t dampened, and that was shown. The smiles, the enthusiasm, the stories and tales, Is something our Literacy Week never fails. Teachers dressed up like beetles and cats. Students dressed up in funny-looking hats. It’s all part of the week where we celebrate books, We loved it! Can’t you tell? Just take a look…
