BMG 2021 Grammarian Issue 3
11 YEAR 1 The Year 1 students enjoyed a fun-filled day at the Staughton Vale Farm Campus, exploring the environment and participating in a range of indigenous games. They also completed a cross-country run and enjoyed drawing the local landscape after walking to the top of the hill. Students visited the garden to dig for bugs and worms to add to the Worm Café. A highlight of the day was when students had the opportunity to go yabbying in the dam. 1A Maddingley was lucky enough to catch an amazing total of 14 yabbies! We were very proud of the students and their willingness to embrace, with a positive attitude, all activities. YEAR 2 Students were lucky enough to enjoy a Day Camp at Sunny Stones! The day kicked off with a half-day hike through Long Forest, in which the students showed perseverance, teamwork, and a ‘can-do’ attitude. After a restful stop for lunch, students had the chance to be involved in a range of fun activities. They rock-climbed a bouldering wall, they showed great communication skills in team-building exercises and they manoeuvred their way through a low- ropes’ course. Students returned to school with a huge sense of achievement and stories of bravery, kindness and adventure. What a fantastic day! YEAR 3 Year 3s were excited to get out and explore Lady Northcote Camp. Canoeing, hut building and yabbying were highlights in perfect weather. YEAR 4 The Year 4s enjoyed their day at Lake Dewar participating in experiences such as canoeing, the flying fox, adventure tunnelling and low ropes course, bush cooking and Go Karting.
