- Page 9 - CONTENTS - FINE MOTOR SKILLS - PREP Teacher: Natalie Goddard Time: Monday Lunchtime Location: Room G10 TEACHER SELECTED PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Prep Fine Motor Skills co-curricular activity aims to improve the students ’ fine motor skills. Fine motor skills are essential for students to achieve success with writing. The focus will be on cutting, colouring, finger grip, hand-eye co-ordination, hand strength and letter formation using a range of hands-on activities. LESSON COMPONENTS  Exercises with an emphasis on finger movement  Cutting and colouring activities  Hands on Activities that build finger grip and strength, for example, Lego or Playfoam  Handwriting – letter formation SKILL DEVELOPMENT  Hand Strength  Finger Grip  Cutting  Hand Eye Co-ordination  Letter Formation SELECTION CRITERIA Teachers will nominate students to participate in this program. Teachers will use classroom observations and a variety of diagnostic testing to select students.
