BMG 2021 Grammarian Issue 1

5 I have involved myself in the school’s Leadership Team as much as possible. Being a member of the SRC, as well as a Year 9 Leader and a House Captain, has provided invaluable experience that I hope to utilise throughout my time as a Vice Captain. During my time as a Vice Captain, I hope to assist the school in any way possible. I particularly hope to optimise the school’s Creative and Critical Thinking Program by ensuring that the time is used wisely by all students. I cannot state enough how grateful I am for this opportunity, and I look forward to serving the school to the best of my ability. Cole Healy I am honoured to be part of the 2021 Leadership Team as one of the School’s Vice Captains. During my time at BMG, I have recognised some things I would like to work towards as a part of the Leadership Team. The main one would be to provide more showcase opportunities for students prominent in music, media and the arts. There are so many talented artists at our school, and their work deserves to be shared and appreciated, not only to give them the recognition they deserve, but also to enrich the lives of the student body and expose it to culture and performances from which it could draw inspiration. With the help of our School Captains, Prefects and my fellow Vice Captains, I am certain we will be able to make 2021 an unforgettable year for the school. Megan Llaneza – Vice Captain I am excited to be presented with this position as I would like to support students and teachers, and give back to the school community. I have been involved in many areas of the school including ICCES, the Before School Reading Program and SRC. My involvement in these areas has helped me grow as a person and develop my communication, problem solving and leadership skills. I look forward to working with the 2021 Leadership Team and endeavour to bring new opportunities to the school community. Victoria Ly – Vice Captain I have always appreciated the encouragement to become actively involved within the life of the school. Some of the many opportunities that BMG has offered that I have been actively involved in include debating, public speaking competitions, annual school productions, Deakin Inspired Minds, Youth Parliament and more. As a member of the Leadership Team, I aim to target the stress surrounding VCE and provide safe spaces for students around the school. I hope to implement many programs to assist the welfare of BMG students whilst guiding them in this pivotal growth period. After school I aim to pursue a career in the medical profession to continue to support others and extend my knowledge. Mia White - Vice Captain
