Not literally, of course, it’s defined as “the action of leading a group of people or an organisation.” In reality, I believe that leadership is subjective, its meaning can never truly be vocalised. But here I am, working it out as I go, like many others. It is said that a part of leadership is admiring others from all sorts of angles. In the words of a rather wise year level coordinator, “We rise by lifting others.” I cannot express enough my amazement at the broad strengths of our leadership body this year and all the hard work it is putting into the school while doing Year 12 – and I am sure we have stressed how much work Year 12 has been so far. We have champion athletes, academic geniuses, public speakers, chess masters; the list goes on. Our leadership body is a prime example of the fact that each of us does not need to be perfect in every way because we all provide an invaluable skill to the team. I have no doubt that we are looking at a strong leadership group and one that will mean the decisions made by this team will leave a lasting legacy on the school. Thank you.
